The National Alliance of Preservation Commissions has selected the City of Evanston to host a Commission Assistance and Mentoring Program (CAMP) historic preservation training session on Friday, April 26, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Morton Civic Center, Parasol Room (4th floor), 2100 Ridge Ave.
CAMP's mission is to build strong local preservation programs through education, advocacy and training. The City's April 26 training session will focus on standards and guidelines, legal basics, and building public support, and will include a hands-on design review workshop. The City was awarded a $7,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources' Historic Preservation Division to help cover the cost of the training.
Community members can register to attend by visiting https://arts.formstack.com/forms/camp_registration by Wednesday, April 24, at 5 p.m. The $37 program registration fee includes all meeting materials and lunch. Space is limited; early registration is recommended.
