Stand Against Racism is a movement of the YWCA that aims to raise awareness of the effects of racism. Schools, businesses, faith groups, civic and community groups, and neighbors are encouraged to turn the discussion on race into action by standing along major streets in Evanston in support of the movement. To get involved:
- Register at www.standagainstracism.org for your group to participate in the public Stand Against Racism.
- Think of another group or two near you with whom you’d like to participate and reach out to them. Collaborating with others to identify and eliminate the inequities that exist is the most likely way to achieve transformation.
- Plan what you’ll do, where you’ll stand, how you’ll support the YWCA mission to eliminate racism.
