Hit a high note for Evanston youth at this year’s Forrest E. Powell Foundation Jazz Brunch, a springtime favorite to be held on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at the Hilton Garden Inn. The event will feature a delicious feast with all brunch favorites, a raffle, and special musical entertainment by Chicago jazz artist Bobby Broom. The event offers attendees a fun and fabulous combination of music, tasty food and the opportunity to raise funds for the Work Ethic Program, which helps ambitious Evanston high school students on the path toward high-paying, in-demand careers in the skilled trades. A mission of the Forrest E. Powell Foundation, founded by restaurateur Hecky Powell, the Work Ethic Program provides high school students with training, mentors, paid apprenticeships, and scholarships.
