The Evanston Community Garden Program rents garden plots from mid-March through mid-November to Evanston residents. Each site has water, wheelbarrows and wood chips available. Full plots are approximately 400 sq. feet and half-plots are about 200 sq. feet. James Park Gardens and Twiggs Gardens also have raised beds. Plots not rented by returning gardeners are available to individuals in the spring. Garden plots will be assigned at the lottery.

Pricing is as follows: Full Plot, $85 (all sites); Half Plot, $42.50 (all sites); Raised Bed, $38 (Twiggs Park); and Raised Bed, $25 (James Park).

There are four community garden sites:

• James Park Gardens on Oakton St.
• Twiggs Gardens on Simpson St.
• McCormick Gardens on McCormick Blvd.
• Lighthouse Gardens on Sheridan Road
