Because of the long partial U.S. government shutdown, many federal employees have faced hardships due to being furloughed or working without pay. To express their appreciation to federal employees, AMITA Health is coordinating with TouchPoint and Sodexo (its food and nutrition partners) to offer a free appreciation meal in its hospital cafeterias to affected families and friends of AMITA Health associates. 

Who: Any federal/government employee and their families are invited to attend. A government ID card is required to receive a free meal for the federal employee and his/her guests. (Guests do not need to provide an ID) The number of family members will not be limited. All guests are eligible for a free parking validation or free valet parking where applicable.

What: Guests will be treated to a complimentary dinner that includes: Caesar salad, garlic bread, carbonara pasta with grilled chicken breast, penne pasta with marinara (a vegetarian option), broccoli with roasted garlic and chilies and baked cookies. 

When: This event will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Presidents Day, Monday, February 18, 2019.
