On Saturday, October 27, from 10 a.m. to noon, Ric Hudgens (North Suburban Mennonite and the Wild Church Network) and Tim Eberhart (Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary) will lead a discussion on "Watershed Spirituality" at the Arrington Lakefront Lagoon Shelter, 1631 Sheridan Rd. Water is central to nearly all the world's religions. The waters of creation. Water rituals for purification. Mni Wiconi: water is life. In a time of widespread ecological degradation, how might we draw upon our religious traditions to affirm and protect the sacredness of water? How might our own watersheds become a centering point and focus for our social, political and religious response to the ecological challenge of our time?
The event is part of the Watershed Learning on the Great Lakes series. Each workshop includes a short talk, discussion/ hands-on activity and tea. No registration is necessary; just drop by. Come prepared to walk outside. Accessible. For more information, email Clare at clare@lakedance.org.
