The Justin Wynn Fund, in collaboration with AYSO, JaHbat, Team Evanston and Chicago Fire Juniors, is hosting SoccerFest on Sunday, September 2 at Evanston Township High School (Football Stadium). The vision of SoccerFest is to bring the community together in a celebration of soccer and sportsmanship. The co-ed 5-on-5 format is open to all community youth in 1st through 8th grades. In addition, there will be concessions and fun activities for the whole family. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s tournament will go to a local charity chosen by the youth in our leadership program.
The Justin Wynn Fund was established in 1987 in loving memory of Justin Michael Wynn, who died in a swimming accident when he was nine years old. From this tragedy, the Wynn family and friends founded The Justin Wynn Fund and later the Justin Wynn Leadership Academy with the mission “to celebrate and nurture youth leaders by helping them develop a deep sense of self and responsibility for improving their communities.”
For more details about the tournament and to register, please go to www.wynners.org. Online registration closes on August 31. Space is limited.
