On Monday, July 30, Shorefront will screen a documentary project that has been in the works for the last four years, “Lorraine H. Morton: A Life Worthwhile.” The screening will be held at the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center in the Parasol Room (4^th Floor) at 11:30 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m.

The documentary is about Lorraine Hairston Morton – an educator, an alderman, and Evanston’s first African American mayor. Lorraine served the Evanston community for over 50 years, guided by a simple statement her father had passed down to her nearly half a century ago — “. . . only a life of service, is a life worthwhile.”

This screening is free and open to the general public, as well as to staff and officials at the Morton Civic Center during their lunch break.
