Donate

The City of Evanston is offered donations of every type for general or specific purposes. Donations are considered  cash, tangible property, or in-kind contributions which provide assistance to the City and generally qualify for a tax receipt. If you are interested in making a donation to the City, please view the following information. 

Some examples of donations accepted by the City include:

• Memorials: trees, park benches, plaques -- program paused in 2025
• Monetary: anything towards foundations within the City, various departments, fundraisers, discount deals from local business and charities affiliated with the City
• Artwork
• Property

Donation Process

1. Complete donation form
2. Submit form to the department relevant to the donation type
3. The department head will consider the donation and, if required, will forward the donation proposal to City Council for consideration and approval
4. If the department head or City Council approves the donation, staff will contact the donor to schedule a donation installation and go over other details
5. Donation installation occurs
