Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market Set to Open May 7
The Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market will open for its 41st season on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at University Pl. and Oak Ave., behind the Hilton Garden Inn.' The market will be held every Saturday through November 5 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free parking is available in the 1800 Maple Self Park Garage with ticket validation at the City of Evanston tent. Evanston Police Department Video Provides Inside Look at Taser Usage
The Evanston Police Department has released a new video, available at youtube.com/CityofEvanstonIL, that provides insight into the Department's training and usage of Tasers. The Taser electronic control weapon is a less lethal force option used to control combative subjects with minimal risk of injury to the subject and the officer. City of Evanston Releases Analysis of 2015 Employee Sick Time Usage
The City of Evanston has released an analysis of 2015 employee sick time usage. The analysis is available online, at cityofevanston.org/transparency. Sick time usage averaged 43 hours per City employee in 2015, or 3.59 hours per month. This total includes employees who took time off for job injuries and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave, and employees who ended their employment with the City at any time during the year. "Shakespeare By Design" Exhibition Opening Reception Set for April 10
