  • Evanston Community Members Encouraged to Provide Feedback on Wayfinding Signage

    Evanston community members and visitors are encouraged to provide feedback on the City's new wayfinding signage. The signs are used to direct motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians to Evanston destinations, including restaurants, shopping, City and University facilities, parking, lakefront attractions, downtown Evanston, surrounding neighborhoods, and more.     The Evanston Police Department has issued a community alert due to two recent calls that residents received from individuals claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in an attempt to collect money from the residents. Although residents have been alerted to such scams in the past, these recent reports contain the added fact that the calls appear to be 'spoofed' due to the residents' caller ID showing the calls as coming from 847-866-5000, which is the non-emergency'

    The Brookings Institution recently published an article discussing minority under-representation in city and suburban policing.'
