Understanding White Privilege Workshop

YWCA Evanston/North Shore invites the public to participate in the racial equity workshops it is offering during the month of March. The two-and-a-half hour workshops will be held at the Morton Civic Center in Evanston.

The subjects, dates, and times are as follows:

“Understanding White Privilege,” Thursday, March 29, 1:30-4 p.m.

What is white privilege? We hear this term more and more. What does it mean? How does it work for those who have it? How can it be used to create greater access for those who don’t have it? And can we please let go of the guilt?

YWCA routinely leads racial equity workshops for groups and institutions throughout Evanston and the North Shore. The series in March is a special opportunity for the public to participate on an individual basis, and develop a deeper understanding of race and its impact on all of us. Fees for each workshop are $75, but participants can request partial waivers if necessary.
