Recycling & Waste
Evanston's Recycling and Waste Collection
Evanston has a city-wide recycling program that picks up your recyclables the same day as your refuse collection. Visit the Recycling Page for information on what you can recycle and how to prepare it for pickup.
Refuse collections are provided weekly for one- to four-unit residences in Evanston. The Streets & Sanitation Division has special rules regarding what type of refuse City crews will collect. Visit the Refuse Collection page for guidelines, fees, and more information.
Yard waste is collected separately during certain periods of the year. Visit the Yard Waste page for information about guidelines and yard waste stickers.
Starting June 2015, plastic film recycling will be more accessible to Evanston residents. Visit the Plastic Film Recycling page for information on where and how to recycle plastic film.
