New Senior Lunch Programs
The City of Evanston Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department was awarded over $40,000 in funding for a senior congregate lunch program. The grant is administered through AgeOptions, the regional agency that distributes federal funding under the Older Americans Act. The grant offsets the cost of each meal and no eligible senior shall be denied participation because of inability to contribute.
The Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave., serves lunch on all five weekdays, while Fleetwood-Jourdain Center, 1655 Foster St., serves a meal at the “Wisdom Café” every Wednesday. When you come for lunch, please make a reservation for your meal for the following Wednesday.
