Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center is the oldest community center in Evanston, opening in 1956. Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center provides many services to the community. The center provides seniors with meals during the day, has indoor facilities to accommodate activities such as karate, and an outdoor playground. Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center provides extensive after-school and summer camp programs for children. For information on Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre, please see the Theatre page.
Middle School Council
New members are invited to join the combined Middle School Council of Fleetwood-Jourdain Center and Mason Park Fieldhouse. The Council meets every Monday and Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. at Fleetwood-Jourdain Center.
Programs
The Middle School Council has organized a new “HOLLA DAZE” free drop-in program, to be held from Noon until 4:00 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 28. If you're in middle school and are looking for something to do over your Thanksgiving Break, drop-in program for an afternoon of fun! You can play Bball, ping pong, table games and PlayStation® or just hang out; you can even buy a snack!
“MLK Through the Eyes of Children and Youth”
You’re invited to Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday celebration. This year, the free event will feature the Family Focus/Fleetwood-Jourdain Choir, dance, poetry and a children’s message. All ages are welcome at 1:00 p.m. on Sat., Jan. 16.
