Office of Emergency Preparedness
This program provides the large scale emergency planning and coordination for the City.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Emergency Plan currency
- Round-the-clock emergency response in time of crisis
- Quarterly reports to the State
- Exercises in lieu of actual occurrences
- Ongoing maintenance of accreditation required for Federal reimbursement of funds
- Training for CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) members
- Support for MRC (Medical Reserve Corps), in cooperation with the Department of Health and Human Services
- Maintain and coordinate information for Evanston Radio AM 1650 WPXZ-497.
* Tornado sirens are tested on the first Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m.
